Main duties and responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s overall marketing strategy.
• Plan marketing campaigns to promote garage services, including servicing, MOTs, repairs, tyres and other automotive services.
• Develop and manage social media strategies and content across relevant platforms.
• Manage the company’s online presence, including the website and other digital marketing channels.
• Research the local automotive market and identify new customer groups and business opportunities.
• Monitor competitors, market trends and customer needs to help develop effective strategies.
• Support the launch and promotion of new services offered by the garage.
• Develop promotional campaigns and offers to increase customer enquiries, bookings and sales.
• Set marketing targets, budgets and timelines and monitor performance against them.
• Work with management to identify opportunities to increase customer numbers and improve customer retention.
• Develop the garage’s brand and ensure consistent marketing messages across different channels.
• Prepare marketing reports and provide recommendations to the management team.
• Support the business’s planned expansion by researching new markets and opportunities.

Person specification

Essential:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related subject.
• Good knowledge of marketing principles and strategy.
• Experience of developing and implementing marketing campaigns.
• Experience of digital marketing and social media marketing.
• Ability to analyse marketing and sales information and use it to improve marketing activities.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and make recommendations to senior management.
• Good IT skills, including experience using social media, websites and digital marketing platforms.

Desirable:

• Experience working in the automotive, motor trade or other service-based industry.
• Experience of marketing for a local business and developing its customer base.
• Experience of supporting business growth or expansion.
• Experience of managing external marketing agencies or suppliers.
